Trainee Software Specialist

As a trainee software specialist, you will take the first step in your career in software development. During this time, you will acquire fundamental skills to deepen your knowledge and abilities in the field of software development. Through exciting projects and intensive training, you will not only expand your technical expertise, but also gain valuable insights into the practical aspects of software development.

Junior Software Specialist

After completing the trainee programme, you will be hired as a Junior Software Specialist. This promotion is an important step in your career, allowing you to further develop your skills in a professional environment. You will participate in various projects and gain valuable experience while working closely with experienced colleagues.

Software Specialist

After three years as a Junior Software Specialist, you will automatically be promoted to Software Specialist. This promotion reflects your continuous development and commitment. As a Software Specialist, you will take on more responsibility, manage complex projects and deepen your skills in software development.

Software Expert

After completing additional training and certifications, your expanded knowledge will earn you a promotion to an expert role in software development. I have been part of the SIHOT family since August 2000 and have had an incredibly exciting journey during this time. It all started in Mallorca as a project manager with the migration from Unix to Windows for Meliá Hotels, and since then my role has continuously evolved – from being responsible for the euro changeover in Spain to founding SIHOT America in Brazil. SIHOT offers a unique working environment: friendly, respectful and with plenty of room for personal development. I have had the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally and to actively shape the company. What makes SIHOT special is its continuous innovation and constant change – there has never been a dull moment! The last 25 years have been an exciting journey and I look forward to the next few years, during which I will continue to help shape the development of SIHOT.

I began my journey at SIHOT over 20 years ago as a dispatcher. Over time, I was able to develop my skills through training and installations to become a trainer. Later, I worked in Hotel Support and was part of the Fiscalisation Team. Today, I am part of the Customer Relations Team, looking after several customers and also supporting our teams with technical issues.

I really enjoy working with our customers. Over the years, many of them have become colleagues – and some even friends. SIHOT offers me the opportunity to continuously develop and discover new things.

Romyna Baumgärtel

Support & CRM

My journey at SIHOT began in 2008 as a working student during my studies in practical computer science, and I started as a developer in 2010. A highlight was my assignment in Australia in 2011, where I led the version upgrade for Mantra Resorts. Direct customer contact showed me early on how important it is to think outside the box and always take the customer’s perspective.

What I like about my work is the diversity between IT and the hotel industry. I enjoy working with people from different fields and supporting my team. In 2019, I took over the leadership of the development team in Portugal and India, and since 2021, as Head of Software Development, I have been strategically supporting the technical development of our products and teams. SIHOT offers me the opportunity and support to continuously develop myself further.

My journey at SIHOT began in 2010 as a support employee, after previously working in a hotel. Starting in support allowed me to get to know SIHOT and the needs of our international customers. This experience expanded my technical knowledge and gave me insights into the challenges of the industry.

Thanks to the trust placed in me by SIHOT, I was able to work as a trainer both nationally and internationally, which broadened my horizons considerably. Today, as a project manager, I can draw on my experience to develop tailor-made solutions for our customers. SIHOT has given me the tools and the confidence to grow beyond my limits.
